A Calculational Formalism for One-Loop Integrals
نویسنده
چکیده
We construct a specific formalism for calculating the one-loop virtual corrections for standard model processes with an arbitrary number of external legs. The procedure explicitly separates the infrared and ultraviolet divergences analytically from the finite one-loop contributions, which can then be evaluated numerically using recursion relations. Using the formalism outlined in this paper, we are in position to construct the next-to-leading order corrections to a variety of multi-leg QCD processes such as multi-jet production and vector-boson(s) plus multi-jet production at hadron colliders. The final limiting factor on the number of particles will be the available computer power.

متن کاملThermal Green's functions from quantum-mechanical path integrals.
In this paper it is shown how the generating functional for Green’s functions in relativistic quantum field theory and in thermal field theory can be evaluated in terms of a standard quantum mechanical path integral. With this calculational approach one avoids the loop-momentum integrals usually encountered in Feynman perturbation theory, although with thermal Green’s functions, a discrete sum ...
متن کاملAn algebraic/numerical formalism for one-loop multi-leg amplitudes
We present a formalism for the calculation of multi-particle one-loop amplitudes, valid for an arbitrary number N of external legs, and for massive as well as massless particles. A new method for the tensor reduction is suggested which naturally isolates infrared divergences by construction. We prove that for N ≥ 5, higher dimensional integrals can be avoided. We derive many useful relations wh...
متن کاملSome variations of the reduction of one-loop Feynman tensor integrals
We present a new algorithm for the reduction of one-loop tensor Feynman integrals with n ≤ 4 external legs to scalar Feynman integrals ID n with n = 3,4 legs in D dimensions, where D = d +2l with integer l ≥ 0 and generic dimension d = 4− 2ε , thus avoiding the appearance of inverse Gram determinants ()4. As long as ()4 6= 0, the integrals ID 3,4 with D > d may be further expressed by the usual...
متن کاملGolem95C: A library for one-loop integrals with complex masses
We present a program for the numerical evaluation of scalar integrals and tensor form factors entering the calculation of one-loop amplitudes which supports the use of complex masses in the loop integrals. The program is built on an earlier version of the golem95 library, which performs the reduction to a certain set of basis integrals using a formalism where inverse Gram determinants can be av...
